Like Attracts Like — But, is it really necessary to help others always in order for the Universe to help Us?

Everyone is famous with the Quote “Like attracts Like”. Also most of us have heard during our childhood, our elders saying that we have to share everything with our friends may be our toys, chocolates or anything like this. Our minds are filled with these types of thoughts and so most of us get excited to help others, when they ask for any help.

helping others

But, before helping others, think for a moment, whether helping him or her makes you to sacrifice yourself or to leave any of your important work and then act accordingly. Remember that it is not necessary to help others always which make you to forget yourself or your work. It is important to be selfish in these matters. You should also think about your risk involved in helping other people’s matters and if you feel any risk involved for your life or for your happiness, you must not hesitate to say “NO” to them. You should see everything in practical before helping others.

This doesn’t mean that you never help others. What I mean is, you have to act according to your situation or your risk involved. The general rule is, “Feel Good, Do Good”. You have to feel good in order to do good and make others feel good. But again, this doesn’t mean that you cannot help others when you are in distress. What I mean is, in helping others you should not trap in to problematic situations put yourself in risk.

Now, one more question arises. How can one help others if he himself is under distress? You have to understand one thing. If you wish to help others, that do not mean that you must be already leading a happy life. You should not think like this, “How can I help, if I cannot help myself?”. You have to know that many self-help gurus in this world are not leading the life as they wish. They are not always happy. Even though, they give lot of suggestions, tips to others to improve their lives. And of course those tips and ideas do work for others.

So, in the same way, you have to think that it is not necessary for you to be happy to help others. Sometimes, the ideas you have may work for their lives if not for yours. Sometimes it will be like this—you may have acquired a lot of knowledge, tips or anything like this when you are in distress in order to improve your life, which was not worked for you. But, those ideas may work for others. Every one’s life is different from others.

So, I conclude by saying again that, think before you act whether you wish to help others or not.
